Single-sided adhesive tapes have a wide range of applications: holding, fastening, splicing, protecting, masking, sealing, and marking. Their specific applications depend on the different backing materials. Single-sided adhesive tapes from 3M are available with backing materials such as paper, polyester, metal, polyurethane, fabric, cellulose acetate/cellophane, and PVC.
Aluminum tape
Aluminum tape consists of a thin aluminum foil coated on one side with an adhesive that is usually heat-resistant.
Applications include, for example, vapor barriers, masking during welding, masking in electroplating, as well as for protection, insulation, and as reflective tape.
Polyester films
Polyester films are used for reliable masking in powder coating. Our proven Errotape 1444 offers excellent heat resistance, is cost-effective, and leaves no residue when removed.
Crepe tape
Masking tapes are ideal for masking during painting and varnishing work, for temporary sealing, bundling, marking, drying processes involving oven curing, and securing items indoors and outdoors. Masking tapes are water-resistant and adhere very well to many different surfaces. They can also be easily torn by hand.
Packaging tapes
Packaging tapes are available in a wide variety of grades. These range from PVC tapes with natural rubber adhesive and paper tapes to PP tapes that unroll quietly or offer high tear resistance. We also offer these packaging tapes printed with your logo or as safety warning tape.
Fabric adhesive tape
These popular heavy-duty adhesive tapes are heat-resistant and water-repellent. The rubber adhesive even allows them to be used on rough surfaces such as plaster and masonry. Fabric-backed adhesive tapes are suitable for protecting, marking, masking, securing, bundling, and fastening items both indoors and outdoors.
Filament tape
Specialty adhesive tapes for extreme applications, offering significantly higher tensile strength than conventional adhesive tapes, designed for bundling and securing cardboard boxes, pallets, and much more.
Plasterer's tape
Plasterer's tape is suitable for masking wooden, plastic, and aluminum door and window frames indoors and outdoors, as well as for edge masking during plastering work. The grooved version of the tape can also be easily torn by hand.
Sealing tape
3M Sealing Tape 4412N and 4411N is particularly suitable for sealing applications and repairs on high-energy materials such as metals, painted surfaces, painted wood, glass, ceramics, and many plastics, both indoors and outdoors. Sealing Tape 4412N consists of a robust ionomer film coated with a very soft and thick acrylate adhesive. Surface irregularities are sealed by the viscous adhesive. 4412N is the optimal solution, especially where mechanical connections have damaged the surface. Even sensitive electronic components are reliably protected from moisture. The sealing tape is easy to use, clean, fast, and low-odor.
Floor marking tape
The 971 floor marking tape can withstand heavy use. That’s when it really shows what it’s capable of: Its exceptional strength comes from its very thick backing material, which consists mainly of polylactide (PLA)—an environmentally friendly, biodegradable material known for its outstanding durability. Even heavy abrasion cannot diminish the vibrancy of the color. In addition, the tape is resistant to moisture, cleaning agents, and many chemicals commonly found in industrial environments. It adheres permanently and is exceptionally durable. Application and removal: Much easier than painting!
