Water jet cutting process
The water jet process is a tool-free manufacturing process that is cost-effective and sustainable.
Only individual parts can be manufactured.
- From sheet/roll to individual parts
- Maximum dimensions: 1300 mm x 1600 mm
Increase cost efficiency and sustainability in the long term with waterjet cutting:
To cut through hard materials or cut out any two- or three-dimensional shapes from them, steel circular saw blades or diamond cutters are not necessarily required. Water jet cutting is a cost-effective and sustainable alternative in which we achieve excellent results with an extremely compressed water jet and additional abrasives that will convince you too.
An ultra-high-pressure pump generates a water jet that exerts a pressure of up to 4000 bar through compression. The water jet is directed through nozzles onto a vertical water jet, which is used to cut soft and medium-hard materials.
The process is particularly suitable for non-adhesive products, self-adhesive anti-slip coatings, and materials that cannot be processed in any other way due to their chemical components. The process also offers a significant advantage with thick materials, e.g., foams, as the cut edges are absolutely vertical.
About waterjet cutting machines:
They consist of various system components that can be individually combined and assembled. The most important structural components are the machine frame, jet extinguisher, abrasive container, and powerful high-pressure systems. Depending on the requirements and cutting process, these complex cutting systems are equipped with different cutting heads. Important manufacturing parameters such as feed rate, positional accuracy, and abrasive feed are controlled via the machine control system. Due to the high noise level, the entire machining process usually takes place underwater in the machine basin, which also serves as a jet absorber and dissipates the residual energy from the cutting process.
