We would like to inform you that our supplier 3M™ has recently announced that it will be discontinuing certain product lines, including a range of PTFE-based tapes and sealing products. As an authorized distributor and converter of 3M products, we would like to ensure that you are informed of these changes in advance to enable a smooth transition in your procurement processes.

According to 3M's announcements, the following products will be discontinued by December 31, 2025:

– 3M™ PTFE film tapes: 5480, 5481, 5490, 5491, 5498, 5280

– 3M™ PTFE glass cloth tapes: 5151, 5151PL, 5153, 5153L, 5451, 5453, 5789

– 3M™ PTFE pipe thread sealing tape: 545D

To ensure the best possible processing of your orders and deliveries, please note that availability may be limited in the future despite forward planning. Therefore, please place your orders as early as possible.

We have been informed that the last date for ordering these materials is April 1, 2025. Deliveries are expected to continue until the fourth quarter of 2025 or until stocks are exhausted. Please note that the availability of these products may be limited in the future.

If you have any questions about this product discontinuation or need assistance in switching to alternative solutions, our internal and external sales teams will be happy to help. As possible alternatives to the discontinued products, 3M™ recommends 3M™ UHMW Film Tape 5421 or 3M™ UHMW Film Tape 5423 for applications that require similar properties. Our team is available to assist you in selecting and transitioning to alternative products.

In addition, the manufacturer 3M™ informed us on August 1, 2024, that the above-mentioned products will be affected by a significant price increase of 27%, which will take effect on October 1, 2024. The reason given was the significant increase in raw material prices, which, according to the manufacturer, cannot be offset by efficiency gains and cost management. As a premium partner, we have of course objected to this price increase. Unfortunately, the increase is nevertheless inevitable and will be implemented in full. Please contact our sales colleagues immediately so that any requirements can be met before the increase takes effect. In addition, for sporadic requirements, we ask that you request the new price from our sales team. We are aware that this adjustment poses a considerable challenge and are working intensively to offer alternative products as a solution.
