3M has announced that it will discontinue the 3M™ Hookit™ 255P and 216U abrasive series. The discontinuation is expected to take place in the first quarter of 2026.

3M is introducing the 3M™ Hookit™ Gold 288U series as a successor product.

According to 3M, the new 3M™ Hookit™ Gold 288U series offers on average:

• 30% faster sanding
• Longer service life compared to the previous 255P/216U Gold series
• (based on internal automated tests by 3M)

During the transition phase, availability may be limited. We therefore recommend that you plan your requirements in advance and place your orders as soon as possible. Orders will be processed in the order in which they are received and delivered until existing stocks are sold out.

Please note that suitability for your specific application must still be verified by the user.
