As you know from previous communications, the manufacturer 3M™ is working to manufacture its products without the use of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) by the end of 2025. This decision is based on careful consideration and a thorough assessment of the evolving external environment, including several factors such as accelerated regulatory trends and changing stakeholder expectations.

Today, we are providing you with a summary list of affected Dual Lock™ products from the 3M Automotive and Aerospace Solutions Division for your information and planning purposes, which your company has purchased over the last 18 months and for which an alternative resin has been qualified, which forms the basis for all 3M™ Dual Lock™ products.

NOTE ON REFORMULATION

The following products have been reformulated to no longer contain intentionally added PFAS:

The reformulated products have been developed to no longer contain intentionally added PFAS and/or to no longer use PFAS in the manufacturing process. The products are expected to be reformulated by October 1, 2025, to no longer contain intentionally added PFAS substances. Please note that availability of a previous formulation may be limited, and 3M cannot speculate on the availability or distribution of products with previous formulations in the supply chain.

The 3M product listed below (“discontinued product”) will be discontinued as indicated in the following table.

The new formulations have been qualified by the manufacturer 3M™ in accordance with the IATF-16949 and ISO-9001 standards. According to the manufacturer 3M™, the product specifications have not been changed. Please note that it remains the responsibility of the user to decide whether a product is suitable for specific requirements.

In the event that a product from the 3M Automotive and Aerospace product range is proven not to comply with the applicable 3M product specifications, to the extent permitted by law, 3M's entire liability and the customer's exclusive right shall be, at 3M's option, either: (i) repair or replacement of the non-compliant product with a compliant product; or (ii) refund of the purchase price paid by the customer for each non-compliant product within a reasonable period of time after written notification of the non-compliance and return of the affected product to 3M. Under no circumstances shall 3M be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages (including, but not limited to, lost profits, lost revenue, or business losses) related to or arising out of this letter or the product(s) referred to herein, including the use, misuse, or inability to use the product(s).
