We would like to inform you that, as part of its ongoing product improvement program, the manufacturer 3M™ has made a change to the adhesive used in its GPT-020 and GPT-020F series double-sided adhesive tapes. According to the manufacturer, the new formulation will have no impact on the performance characteristics, fit, form, or function of the product. All GPT-020 adhesive tapes will continue to be manufactured using 3M™'s proprietary solvent-free technology. Please note that suitability for specific applications remains the responsibility of the user.

Starting in June 2025, 3M™ will begin phasing out the material IDs with the previous adhesive formulation. At the same time, new material IDs will be introduced. The transition is expected to be completed by the end of 2025. This adjustment is intended to improve the manufacturing process and ensure a more stable supply chain. All affected products will continue to be manufactured at an ISO 9001-certified facility. No adjustment of product specifications or data sheets is necessary. According to 3M™, no resampling (PPAP) is planned.

Please note that the availability of an earlier formulation may be limited and that 3M cannot speculate on the availability or distribution of products with earlier formulations in the supply chain.

Introduction of a new product line

In addition, 3M™ is announcing the new GPT-020TF product line. These products use the same adhesive but feature a translucent red film made of 80 μm polypropylene. The new range will be available in selected widths.
