Official Notice - Customer Information Regarding Product Changes and Discontinuations - Due to PFAS Regulation 3M™ Automotive and Aerospace - Tapes Status 01_2025
As you know from previous communications, the manufacturer 3M is working to manufacture its products without the use of per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) by the end of 2025. This decision is based on careful consideration and a thorough assessment of the evolving external environment, including several factors such as accelerated regulatory trends and changing stakeholder expectations.
Today, we are providing you with a summary list of affected products from the 3M Automotive and Aerospace Solutions Division for your information and planning purposes, which your company purchased directly from our company between July 1, 2023, and December 31, 2024.
The introduction of the new products or discontinuation of the affected products will take place before the end of 2025 in all cases, and for some products considerably earlier. Details of the change may vary depending on the product. Please note that the availability of a previous formulation may be limited and 3M cannot speculate on the availability or distribution of products with previous formulations in the supply chain.
Product Discontinuations
The products listed in the table below are being discontinued and will soon be unavailable. We would like to draw your attention to possible alternative products that are available for your consideration and will continue to be available after the fourth quarter of 2025. Please note that it remains the responsibility of the user to determine whether a product is suitable for their specific requirements. However, our application engineers will be happy to assist you in switching to a new product.
Product reformulations
The products listed in the table below are subject to product reformulation.
Reformulation of the existing product = The reformulation of the existing products listed below is carried out with the aim of meeting the same or essentially similar specifications as far as possible.
Reformulation using a newly developed product = The new development of a product with a new product name, which may have changed specifications.
The new formulations have been qualified by the manufacturer 3M in accordance with the IATF-16949 and ISO-9001 standards. Please note that it remains the responsibility of the user to decide whether a product is suitable for their specific requirements. However, our application engineers will be happy to assist you with the transition to a new product.
