3M™ Elite random orbit sanders with a connection for central vacuum ensure optimal performance of 3M abrasives. Our sanders feature a powerful, precisely balanced air-driven motor and a durable yet lightweight aluminum housing. This allows for extended use without fatigue. The sanders can be connected to a central dust extraction system or to a portable external vacuum, such as a vacuum cleaner. They feature a threaded connection that allows for the easy and secure attachment of a one-inch external threaded vacuum hose (sold separately), significantly reducing dust buildup on the workpiece and in the surrounding area. The switch platform is recessed to prevent pinching or pressure marks on the user’s palm. Users can choose between three handle sizes. The sander’s handle diameters are two, three, or four inches. Additionally, two more handle sizes are available (2.5-inch and 3-inch diameters, sold separately). The extended, curved wrist rest reduces strain on the wrist and hand and provides additional leverage. The rubber-resin handle is made of 3M Gripping Material, which gives the user better control and absorbs vibrations. The durable composite cover extends to the bottom of the machine, dampening vibrations and preventing cracks in the housing. An internal silencer protects the user’s hearing. The convenient thumb dial allows you to adjust the speed with your thumb. This reduces the likelihood of accidental speed changes. Our Elite random orbit sanders deliver optimal sanding and surface preparation on wood, metal, fiberglass, composite materials, and many other surfaces. These sanders, also known as one-handed random orbit sanders, cause the sanding disc and the sanding pad to rotate in two overlapping oval motion patterns. This means that no single abrasive grain follows the same path twice, resulting in a scratch- and swirl-free surface that can be painted immediately.
