Double-sided adhesive tapes for industrial use
Double-sided tape, or simply double-sided adhesive tape, enables permanent and clean bonding of various materials. Unlike liquid adhesives or glue, the adhesive cannot run or ooze out at the edges. This makes double-sided tape ideal for use in production, fastening, and other manufacturing processes.
3M Double-Sided Adhesive Tape can be easily cut to size by hand. One side is protected by a removable liner. The double-sided tape is first applied to a surface with the exposed adhesive side. Then the back is peeled off, revealing the second adhesive surface. Simple and clean. Please refer to the specific adhesive strength specifications in the product descriptions.
Our product range includes various types, such as VHB and VHB GPH adhesive tape in all sizes.
3M double-sided adhesive tape can also be used as a substitute for screw fasteners or other mechanical fastenings. It is suitable for a wide variety of products that require a strong and secure bond. Additional advantages of the adhesive tape include its resistance to weather, UV light, and temperature. It offers reliable and superior adhesive properties even when exposed to solvents or water. Despite its extra-strong adhesive strength, it can still be removed from many smooth, solid surfaces without leaving any residue.
3M adhesives and adhesive tapes always ensure the right bond: from adhesion and fixation to load-bearing connections.
You benefit from weight advantages over alternative joining methods. They do not damage surface structures and save you time and money, as handling is particularly simple and efficient. For example, bond metals such as aluminum and steel, low-energy plastics such as PE or PP, fiber-reinforced composites such as CFRP and GFRP, or even elastomers, rubber, wood, ceramics, glass, leather, and many other materials—always without causing damage. Adhesives enable flexible bonds, high dynamic strength, and high vibration damping.
When using 3M adhesives, designers have a wide range of options for design, material selection, and manufacturing techniques.

Your benefits:
- Excellent adhesion: Thanks to its outstanding adhesive properties, the tape is suitable for bonding a wide variety of materials, such as wood, metal, plastic, glass, stone, etc.
- Tearable by hand: Quick and easy application of the tape
- UV- and moisture-resistant: The adhesive tape can be used both indoors and outdoors.
- Age-resistant: When applied properly, the tape can maintain its adhesion for many years.
Note:
The surfaces to be bonded must be dry and free of dust, grease, and silicone. To ensure proper adhesion, the tape must be pressed firmly against the material to be bonded. Optimal final strength is achieved after 24 hours. For sensitive surfaces (e.g., PP, PE, rubber) and porous substrates (e.g., wood, stone), please conduct preliminary tests. When bonding plastics containing plasticizers, the plasticizers may alter the adhesive layer, thereby compromising the adhesive’s strength. The application instructions are recommendations based on our tests and experience; you should conduct your own tests before each application.
