3M Gripping Material TB641

3M™ Gripping Material TB641 was developed to make surfaces noticeably more grippy and to make the handling of tools, devices, and controls safer and more comfortable. The specially microstructured surface consists of thousands of fine, replicated microelements that act like tiny gripping fingers. This creates a soft, flexible, and highly grippy coating that provides a secure grip with minimal effort and reliably reduces slipping—even in damp environments.

The back is coated with a pressure-sensitive acrylic adhesive that reliably adheres to numerous materials, including powder-coated surfaces and plastics with low surface energy. The thin, elastic backing material easily conforms to tight radii and complex shapes and can be easily cut, die-cut, or wrapped.

Compared to other gripping materials, TB641 offers the best UV and sunlight resistance, making it ideal for outdoor use. It can be used both on its own and as part of a two-component gripping system—for example, in combination with gloves to further maximize grip strength. The material is suitable for temperatures ranging from –40 °C to +60 °C and offers versatile applications in industrial, commercial, and sports settings.
