3M™ Traction Tape 5401 increases the coefficient of friction of guide rollers in the web processing industry. This ensures consistent transfer of tensile force and tension of a web material during unwinding. At the same time, this product features a non-sticky and easily removable surface. Printing, processing, or other operations are not affected by the tape.

3M™ Traction Tape 5401 is a single-sided, silicone-coated glass fabric tape. 3M’s glass fiber fabric tapes are characterized by high temperature resistance, high adhesive strength, and a highly durable, abrasion-resistant backing. The backing is glass fiber-reinforced and does not shrink, age, or burn. It is highly durable in production environments and can be used at temperatures up to 148.8 °C. The backing material is adaptable and can be applied in a spiral pattern or over the entire surface of guide rollers to optimize processes in systems and machines. The tape is applied by hand. It is primarily used to improve the adhesion of materials that are conveyed via rollers or drive rollers during printing, flexographic printing, roll stock processing, and other processes. At the same time, it is suitable for imparting anti-adhesive properties to guide rollers and rolls to reduce the time required to change or clean the rollers/rolls. The durable silicone adhesive adheres well to most surfaces and can be removed cleanly with minimal cleaning effort.
