The cream-colored ET 46 polyester film with thermosetting rubber adhesive is glass fiber reinforced and has a dielectric strength of 5500 V. Insulation class: B (130 °C)
The 3M™ Glass-Reinforced Polyester Film 46 combines the excellent electrical properties of a polyester film with the high stability of a glass fabric tape. As a result, the 0.177-millimeter-thick insulating tape withstands a breakdown voltage of 5,500 volts and has extremely high tensile strength. With a temperature resistance up to 130 °C, it belongs to insulation class B. The polyester film is coated with a thermosetting rubber adhesive that develops extremely strong bonding strength. This makes it particularly well-suited for securing end wires on coils. It also ensures excellent impregnation with resins and varnishes.
