Adhesive tape with very high initial hold/shear strength for splicing photographic films.

Ideal for splicing most photographic films for processing with developer chemicals. Rubber-resin adhesive provides high adhesion with excellent chemical resistance. The durable backing of 3M™ Polyester Adhesive Tape 8422 features a black, opaque backing and allows for splice detection by automatic sensors and equipment. Additionally, it provides extra abrasion protection for the seal, edge, and color coding. The rubber-resin adhesive adheres well to a variety of photographic films, offers excellent chemical and solvent resistance, and features high shear strength. The tape remains flexible at 50°C and is dimensionally stable up to a temperature of 150°C.
