Beschreibung
The 3M™ 8985L was specially developed for precise masking tasks in chromic acid anodizing (Type I). It offers a clean, silicone-free alternative to liquid masking—with no waiting times, no unpleasant odors, and significantly reduced labor.
The durable polyester backing is resistant to aggressive chemicals, while the rubber-resin adhesive is formulated without silicone to prevent interference with subsequent bonding or painting. The translucent violet tape is easy to position and ensures sharp masking edges, minimizing paint bleed and reducing the need for rework.
Thanks to the included release liner, the tape is ideal for die-cutting or printing—particularly advantageous for industrial mass production.
