3M™ Flatback Masking Tape 2517 is a versatile, general-purpose tape for web processing and splicing applications where reliable adhesion is required even during high-temperature curing cycles. The sturdy kraft paper backing withstands moisture and temperatures up to 149 °C (30 minutes) yet can still be easily torn by hand. The applied rubber adhesive provides immediate initial adhesion to various substrates, including steel, and offers strong holding power while remaining easy to remove. The tape can be applied both by hand and by machine and impresses with its durability, flexibility, and reliable performance in demanding applications.
