Scotch Tape 9040

3M™ Double-Sided Adhesive Tape 9040 is a versatile adhesive solution for fast and reliable fastening. It was developed for applications requiring high initial adhesion and a secure bond on various materials—including plastics with low surface energy.

The pressure-sensitive synthetic rubber adhesive ensures immediate adhesion as soon as the tape is pressed down. This allows components to be processed further without any waiting time. At the same time, the adhesive tape offers stable shear strength at room temperature, making it suitable for numerous assembly and lamination tasks.

A paper-fleece backing ensures good dimensional stability and easy further processing, particularly during die-cutting or cutting processes. The silicone-coated release liner peels off effortlessly and enables clean, efficient work. The 3M™ 9040 adheres reliably to many surfaces, including polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), and other plastics. Material compatibility should be tested prior to use; contact with organic or aromatic solvents should be avoided.
