3M™ Plastic Adhesive 1099, with a 40-minute open time, dries quickly. The product is resistant to oil, fuel, and plasticizers. With an operating temperature range of -40 °C to +120 °C, it achieves good adhesion to many plastics as well as to rigid and flexible PVC.

Nitrile rubber-based plastic adhesive 3M™ Plastic Adhesive 1099 is a solvent-based adhesive for bonding decorative films to fiber-reinforced plastics, ABS, PA, rigid and flexible PVC, rubber, foams, metals, wood, leather, etc. – – creating strong and durable bonds. However, the product may cause staining on thin or light-colored vinyl surfaces. Potential applications: bonding plastics and PVC, automotive repairs including upholstery or dashboard installation, banners and awnings, general industrial manufacturing, and accelerating general bonding processes during maintenance and repair.

3M™ Solvent Adhesive for Plastics 1099 has good wetting properties and is easy to apply. Once the solvents have evaporated, strong bonds are quickly achieved. The bonding surfaces can be activated by the solvent or by heat in combination with pressure. Additionally, the product can be easily sprayed—this allows for convenient application over large areas and ensures even wetting of the materials. Application 3M™ Solvent Adhesive 1099 is applied using a spray gun, brush, or roller. Stir the product well before use and apply evenly to both surfaces. If the solvent-based adhesive is applied in overlapping passes, this first coat should sufficiently wet most surfaces. Effective coverage is achieved once at least 80% of the surface is covered with the solvent-based adhesive. Highly absorbent and porous substrates may require a second application. Following the flash-off time, which depends on temperature, humidity, and air circulation as well as the porosity of the material surfaces, the components are joined within the bonding window.
