3M Scotch-Weld Primer for cyanoacrylate adhesives

The 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ Primer AC 77 was specifically developed to significantly facilitate the bonding of low-surface-energy plastics. As a bonding promoter for cyanoacrylate adhesives, it improves adhesion on materials that are difficult to bond, such as polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), and certain elastomers and silicones.

The primer specifically increases the surface energy of the materials, thereby creating the conditions for stable, durable adhesive bonds. Application is simple and time-saving: The primer is applied to the prepared surface and is ready for the subsequent bonding process after a very short flash-off time of about 30 seconds. This helps accelerate processes and reduce turnaround times.

3M™ Scotch-Weld™ AC 77 is suitable for numerous industrial applications, including automotive and specialty vehicle manufacturing, metalworking, construction, maintenance and repair, electronics, and consumer goods production. When used in combination with 3M™ Scotch-Weld™ cyanoacrylate adhesives, the primer enables reliable bonds even on particularly challenging plastic surfaces. It is recommended to test material compatibility before series production.
