Use 3M™ Perfect-It™ Sanding Compound to remove scratches after planing or intermediate sanding (using a 3M 260L P1200 or P1500 sanding disc or 3M micro-fine wet sandpaper 1500 or 2000).
3M™ Perfect-It™ Compound gives both fresh and older paint finishes a new-like shine. This fast-acting, coarse-grit polishing compound is applied with a machine and is suitable for the initial polishing steps in numerous processes. The corresponding pad is orange. Following this process, the surface must be treated with a finer product to achieve a high-gloss finish. The 3M™ Perfect-It™ Fine Sanding Compound or the 3M™ Perfect-It™ High-Gloss Machine Polish with a black waffle pad is suitable for this purpose.
