The 3M™ 947D Cloth Abrasive Belt is an abrasive tool with a cooling abrasive aid for the metal industry. This product was developed to provide superior surface finishing on a variety of metals, including nickel and stainless steel. This robust belt is made from a blend of aluminum oxide and ceramic grain and cuts quickly and evenly while maintaining a smooth, high-quality finish.

Thanks to its extreme toughness, the ceramic abrasive grain achieves high grinding performance even under the heaviest loads. The highly flexible X-polyester backing provides excellent support for the abrasive grain and ensures high adaptability to contours and radii. The combination of ceramic grain and a special abrasive additive results in a cooler cut and minimizes discoloration on hard-to-grind and heat-sensitive alloys.
