3M-577F Abrasive Belts

The 3M™ 577F Cloth Sanding Belt is a high-performance abrasive tool for high-alloy steels, featuring a cooling abrasive compound. It features an aluminum oxide-zirconia abrasive grain for improved cutting performance on aluminum oxide abrasive belts and a robust, water-resistant YF-weight polyester backing that withstands high-pressure applications and edge work. The durable backing ensures a long service life and is suitable for wet and dry applications.

The zirconia corundum grain, with its high toughness, ensures low chipping. The result is high grinding performance at medium and high grinding pressures and good material removal rates, particularly when working with stainless steel. The tear-resistant Y-polyester fabric backing is suitable for the most demanding applications. An abrasive additive ensures low thermal stress on the abrasive grain. This reduces discoloration and achieves a long service life and high cutting performance.
