3M 1170 aluminum foil, smooth, aluminum
The 3M 1170 aluminum shielding tape is an aluminum foil coated with a conductive acrylic adhesive. With an electrical resistance of ten milliohms, it can be used wherever electromagnetic shielding is required but conductivity requirements are not too high. Thus, the aluminum shielding foil represents a good, cost-effective alternative to copper tapes. In addition to EMC applications, it is also ideal for grounding and dissipating electrostatic charge. Its excellent die-cuttability and relatively low overall thickness of 0.081 millimeters ensure a wide range of applications. The tape is flame-retardant according to UL, and its adhesive is resistant to solvents, ensuring long-term functionality.
