The 3M™ Polyester Film 58 is an exceptionally thin and flexible insulating tape characterized by high adhesive strength and tear resistance. While the heat-curing rubber adhesive is extremely resistant to "flagging," the backing exhibits very high tear and abrasion resistance. The tape, which is 0.08 millimeters thick overall, withstands a breakdown voltage of 7,000 volts and, with a temperature resistance of up to 130 °C, belongs to insulation class B. The transparent polyester film is ideal for covering coils and for interlayer insulation where high electrical breakdown resistance is required.
