The 3M™ VHB™ Max Series Adhesive Tape is a high-performance, acrylic-based double-sided adhesive tape specifically designed to replace mechanical fastening methods, welding processes, and liquid adhesives in structural applications. It belongs to the highest-performance generation of the proven 3M™ VHB™ product family and impresses with exceptional strength, versatility, and processing efficiency.
With a lap bond strength of up to 3.24 MPa (470 psi), the tape achieves significantly higher adhesive strength than conventional acrylic tapes. The immediate handling strength enables faster assembly, as curing or drying times are completely eliminated—ideal for efficient production processes with high cycle rates.
The 3M™ VHB™ Max also offers excellent adhesion to metals and high-energy surfaces and ensures seamless, visually clean joints that are both technically and aesthetically impressive. Thanks to its high performance, the required bonding area can be reduced, which lowers material costs and component weight without compromising strength.
For maximum bond strength, we recommend combining it with the 3M™ VHB™ Max bonding agent to achieve an optimal bond on a wide variety of substrates and under varying environmental conditions. The series is available in four variants: 0.6 mm (060GF), 1.1 mm (110GF), 1.6 mm (160GF), and 2.3 mm (230GF).
