3M™ VHB™ Tape 4991 is a grey, high-performance double-sided tape with a thickness of 2.3 mm, consisting of 100% closed-cell acrylate adhesive. It has been specially developed for demanding applications where high strength, adaptability and long-term durability are required – both indoors and outdoors.

Thanks to its viscoelastic properties, the tape adapts perfectly to uneven or textured surfaces and ensures tension-free, permanent bonds. It can replace mechanical fasteners such as screws, rivets or welded joints, thereby eliminating the need for steps such as drilling, grinding or finishing.

3M™ VHB™ 4991 is characterised by high resistance to plasticisers and adheres reliably to materials with medium to high surface energy, such as metals, plastics, paints, glass or powder-coated surfaces. It also offers excellent vibration and shock absorption, as well as a permanent seal against water and moisture. This makes it ideal for applications where performance, design and durability are equally crucial.
